As an AdSense publisher, you're certainly familiar with the rules and policies set by Google AdSense as a means of monetizing your blog, and you must also follow them to avoid violating any established regulations.

However, simply complying with all the rules isn't enough; we also need to monitor any irregularities, which are usually reported via notifications in the AdSense dashboard.

One such irregularity is the placement of AdSense ad unit code on a site that isn't ours.

It reads something like this:

In the last 7 days, your ad code has appeared very frequently on sites that aren't yours. To prevent lost revenue, be sure to add these sites to your list of owned sites in Site Management.

Regardless of the purpose of this ad code theft, if the thief misuses our AdSense ad code and places it on a blog that violates the rules, it will certainly negatively impact our AdSense revenue, and if prolonged, it's highly likely that our AdSense account will be disabled.

Before this happens, here are some tips to prevent unwanted incidents and the things thieves (really) want: by activating the Site Authorization feature.

The Site Authorization feature allows specific sites to display ads. Ad code units placed on other sites without permission will not be recorded in your AdSense earnings. Enabling the Site Authorization feature will also make your AdSense account more secure from other blogs stealing your ad code.

Resolving Google AdSense Ad Code Stealing

  • Go to your AdSense home page > Click the gear icon in the top right corner, then select the Settings menu.
  • Select the Site Management tab.
  • Then, add a checkmark in the right menu of the Site Management tab.
  • These are tips for dealing with Google AdSense ad code being stolen by others. We hope this is helpful, and best wishes for success.
